[MISC] Meet the Blogger Behind the Screen

Hello, lovelies! 🌈 Let’s do something fun today, this month is my birthday month so I want to do something different. I realized that since I started blogging I didn’t do one of those bookish ‘introduce yourself’ tag. So instead of picking a ‘newbie tag’ since they don’t necessary apply to me anymore, I have decided to do this fun post as a way to introduce myself, I will share just things about me that may be fun or interesting 🤷🏻‍♀️ you decide (づ￣ ³￣)づ

• Name is ^Leyanis, sadly, it doesn’t have any meaning. I’m an Aquarius, who comes from a small island, and lived in a small town where everyone knew everyone (the perfect mystery novel setting ⚆ _ ⚆)
• I 👩🏻‍🎓 with dual Bachelors (in History and Spanish) and a minor (in Asian Studies) 🧠
• I speak full English and Spanish. I studied Japanese🏯 as part of my minor but I understand more than what I read/write or speak. I also understand beginner level of Korean (very beginning) and Portuguese.
• I want to travel to Italy (Venice), Japan, South Korea and Ireland (lately, mainly Ireland, preferably the countryside). Maybe Europe, there is something about _{sleepy towns} and gorgeous architecture that just calls my name.

• I love pastel colors but lately, I have been into dark earthy tone colors: mustard, brown, reds, greens.
• Rainy days are the best days ☔️
• I got into K-pop in 2010, most of the groups I stand are OG groups and I will forever be grateful I found this genre of music. Old K-pop is literally a balm to my soul.

• I’m the youngest in my family, I have three 🐶 – they rule.
• I was re-introduced to reading by the Goosebumps series during middle school #noregrets
• Lately I’ve been into baking, banana bread is my speciality. I’m not amazing at it, but I have perfected the recipe to the point where the end result is MUAH ‘insert chef kiss’ (▰˘◡˘▰)
• Autumn is my favorite season. The colors, the weather, and overall feelings is superior to any other season. I always get a sense of nostalgia during this season.

• I don’t know how to swim which is funny because I grew up in an island! This is actually because of my _aquaphobia, I’m terrified of large bodies of water, I also have _acrophobia and _{gephyrophobia} (which is the fear of driving over bridges). Yep, this is my life.
  • Funny fact: I used to have a job where for 4 years I had to drive over a bridge on a river to and from work – nightmares, every single time (especially when traffic would get me stuck on top of the bridge and I would feel the bridge move due to the oncoming traffic on the other lines)
• I loved my High School experience and my ultimate goal is to go back and teach there (either History or Spanish as I have the credentials for it).
• I want to do a Masters in Creative Writing.
• I have always been an excellent student and I loved going to school (except my last semester of university life, it was a nightmare)
• I enjoy bullet journaling, taking pictures, using Photoshop and collecting mugs.
• Crime shows are a must for me: CSI Vegas, CSI NY, The Mentalist, Bluebloods, Criminal Minds, Leverage, etc.
• I love 2000-2010 telenovelas (soap operas) I think that era was the absolutely best and provided some of the most amazing romances, friendships, mysteries and family centered soap operas.
• Music is everything for me, since I was a young girl I have been surrounded by music in different languages. From Spanish, Japanese, Italian, and more. I just love music 🥁
• RBD will always be my childhood band (they were a Mexican group that came from an incredibly successful soap opera back in the 2000s). I moved to a new country and a year later they were introduced in my life – the soap opera where the band came from and every single song they release made my life happier. They recently had a reunion and it was one of those moments where life just made sense.

• I love watching K-DRAMAS. I think Korean Dramas have some of the best plots and acting (some recommendations: _{Goblin Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, It’s Okay That’s Love, Be Melodramatic, Stairway to Heaven, Touch Your Heart, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, The Beauty Inside, School 2013})
• I’m a huge anime fan (don’t judge please (✿´‿`)): hello _{Naruto, Bleach, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Kare Kano, Kuroko No Basuke, Fruit Basket, Code Geass, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Kamikaze Kaitō Jannu, Haikyuu!!, Free!, Yuri!!! on Ice.} and many, many more.
• I’m extremely good at remembering faces and names in real life but when it comes to book characters I SUCK. I may remember the plot for years but not the character’s name.
• I love to ride bicycles and this year I want to learn how to rollers skate. I have no interest in any other sports (besides watching Michael Phelps 🏊🏻‍♂️ )
• My favorite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
